A few years ago, Song Confessional was invited to take confessions at a festival where Rayland Baxter was booked to play. A young woman came into our trailer who was grieving the simultaneous loss of her mother, brother, and grandparents. As you’ll hear in the confession, she’d come to the festival in the hopes of hearing Baxter sing “Willy’s Song”, one of her favorite songs and also the name of her recently deceased brother.
It took a few years, but we finally got this confession to him. He wrote a song inspired by it, which he’ll be premiering at our live event on Wednesday, April 2nd. In addition to a live set by Rayland, the show will feature animated versions of multiple juicy confessions as well as new songs by Tameca Jones and Jackson Scribner. Get tickets now.
