When we started this project 7 years ago (that felt weird to type!) I never could have imagined the wide variety of stories we’d hear over the years. In just a few short weeks, you’ve already gotten a taste of the kinds of things people share with us, which is just about anything. Well, every once in a while a confession incepts me and all I want is for someone to write a song about it but similar to Walker’s entry last week, we’ve yet to find our unicorn on this one. I’ve given this confession to no less than 6 artists…just waiting for glory and I can’t keep it to myself any longer. I get that it’s not the typical material that might inspire a song but I still believe my hero is out there!
I took this confession back in 2023 at Artsplosure in Raleigh, NC (one of our favorite little local festivals). They’ve got live music, artisans from all over the state selling handmade goods, tons of food vendors, and it’s all free! It was a beautiful warm weekend and the kids were out, about, and ready to mingle. The people of The Triangle always deliver and we’ve featured several confessions from Artsplosure in the past…..like this one that Libby Rodenbough of Mipso turned into a song back in 2022:
But this confession you’re going to hear today is just a bit different. As the title gives away, our confessor shares her tale of sorority hazing and how a brief decision will be with her for the rest of her life. Thankfully she’s lighthearted about the experience and her longterm scars are only physical not mental. Enjoy voyeurs, this ones a little spicy!
Til next time,
ZC
